DATA communication relating to 'The Burning', an event collaboratively organised in Glasgow Green as part of The Festival of Non-Participation (co-ordinated by Pete Horobin) on 8.88.1988 at 8 pm. The event invited artists to contribute their artworks for desttruction as a form of non-participation in capitalist consumerism. Malcolm Dickson documented the event on Super 8 film. A digitised versoin of the film 'The Burning' was screened on 4 April 2024 as part of HISTORY/REALITY: An Attic Archive Installation curated by Judit Bodor in the Matthew Gallery, DJCAD, University of Dundee. The voiceover of the film is loosely based on the article 'A Neoist Story' written by Horobin (as monty cantsin) after the event and published in Variant Issue 6 (1988).
